Post Help to decipher Docear logs (Ubuntu 16.04)
on: November 27, 2016, 19:42

I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 16.04 x84_64 and Docear has since stopped working. Given that it works on my other 16.04 machines, I assume it must be something to do with the update.

- I have tested a variety of Java versions (Oracle 7-8, OpenJDK 7-8) and neither makes a difference.
- Freeplane 1.7.0_121 from the Ubuntu repos is installed on this machine and it executes normally.
- I may have tweaked some Java font settings in the past but I have grep'd my system to confirm there are no Java/Swing config files remaining which contain any of these mentions: -Dawt.useSystemAAFontSettings=, -Dswing.aatext=, swing.defaultlaf=

Logs Attached:
1. ./ &> log.txt
2. Same, with props.xargs > Dorg.knopflerfish.framework.debug.*=true and Dorg.knopflerfish.verbosity=1

I would prefer not to have to wipe this system as I have more pressing deadlines this week!

Thank you for your feedback. Please note that we - the Docear team - currently do not have the time to answer support questions. However, we encourage all Docear users to help each other.

The issue was resolved by specifying a freeplane user directory in the file

++Line 200

++Line 215

Based on this advice:

I'm now going to test a /path/to/Dropbox/docear to see if Docear can cope with a user dir in the cloud.
