Post Font display issues in Ubuntu 14.04

I have installed Docear on two different computers running Ubuntu 14.04 and get the save problem with both installations.

The problem is that, as can be seen in the attached screenshots, some of the fonts in the mindmap window (the main window) do not display properly.

The menu fonts are all fine.

Not sure if this is a bug or some setting.

Also, this problem seems to be independent of the font I use, although it is less apparent with some fonts.

Hi Michael_K,

on Debian Jessie 8.7, I've solved the same problem by commenting 2 lines at the file /etc/fonts/conf.d/50-user.conf, following instructions from this page:

http://www.itworld.com/article/2985788/linux/how-to-fix-fontconfig-warning-errors-in-linux.html

Hope it helps,

Miguel

Michael_K, you can try oracle JRE. It's likely what old version of OpenJRE responsible for this bug.
